AMETEK Foundation Providing Global Support in Fight Against COVID-19

Wednesday, April 22, 2020

The AMETEK Foundation today announced that it is contributing more than $1.5 million to support various nonprofit organizations around the world, including major efforts in the fight against COVID-19.

Established in 1960, the AMETEK Foundation is the charitable giving arm of AMETEK, Inc. The Foundation’s mission is to empower AMETEK colleagues making a positive impact in their local communities, with a focus on health and welfare, civic and social service programs, and education.

Given the company’s global footprint, the AMETEK Foundation is supporting numerous charitable organizations around the world that are directly assisting local communities affected by COVID-19. Philanthropic organizations providing food and essentials to those affected by the virus, along with those supplying personal protective equipment for front-line healthcare providers, were prioritized in the initial effort.

While continuing to support the dozens of charities which AMETEK colleagues are involved with, the AMETEK Foundation is proud to highlight its partnerships with the following organizations that are directly providing COVID-19 relief:

Direct Relief – As a humanitarian aid organization, Direct Relief is providing personal protective equipment and essential medical items to healthcare workers in the United States and around the world. Direct Relief’s mission is to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies – without regard to politics, religion, or ability to pay.

Bancos de Alimentos de Mexico (BAMX) – BAMX supports 55 food banks across Mexico. The AMETEK Foundation is contributing to the BAMX food bank based in Reynosa, where the company has a significant presence.

Feeding America – As the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States, Feeding America serves a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs across the country. The organization is ramping up its efforts in response to COVID-19 to provide food for families, students, and communities.

Philabundance – Partnered with Feeding America, Philabundance is the largest organization in the Philadelphia area working to end hunger. Since the virus entered the region, Philabundance has worked closely with the city of Philadelphia to provide emergency food for individuals and families in need.

Red Cross of Serbia – In the city of Subotica, where AMETEK has a manufacturing facility, the Red Cross of Serbia operates a public kitchen providing meals to those in need. The public kitchen in Subotica is one of the largest of its kind in Serbia, serving hundreds of families in need, with increased efforts needed due to the pandemic.

Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) – In response to the COVID-19 crisis, IRCS is providing food, essentials and personal protective equipment in Bangalore, India, where AMETEK has a significant operating presence.

Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia – Partnering with social service providers across the Philadelphia region, Cradles to Crayons provides everyday essential items to children living in poverty and homeless situations. Through its newly established Emergency Essentials Fund, the organization is providing diapers, hygiene items, and activity packs for children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The AMETEK Foundation is dedicated to supporting local communities during these unprecedented times by focusing on health and safety initiatives. The Foundation will continue to monitor the global crisis and provide additional support as this situation develops.
